Adverse Impact – Substance Abuse
Recognizing the major impact that alcohol and substance use have on the
lives of our members, the MHALA outcome system uses both staff report and
member self-report to determine the level of impact that alcohol and
substances are having on the lives of the members.
The system uses two internally developed instruments to track the level
of impact resulting from alcohol and substance use. These are:
- The Alcohol and Substance Use Inventory (Member Version)
16 items member rated either yes or no detailing the impact that
substances have had on the member’s life during the last six months.
- The Alcohol and Substance Use Inventory (Staff Version)
16 items staff rated either yes or no detailing the impact that
substances have had on the member’s life during the last six months.
