(Branch)
Approach: Menu Driven

The menu approach offers an array of options which supports individuated services

  • There is free choice of any option from the menu at any point in time; there are no prerequisites and there is no required or defined "step-structure"
  • Within each category, a variety of options can be offered
  • Range is from highly structured to loosely structured; highly challenging to less challenging
  • Staff operates flexibly when assisting members with their choices
  1. "maximize choices"
  2. "whatever it takes"
  3. "strike while the iron is hot"
  4. "persuasion but not coercion" – choices are offered and support to the member remains constant even if the member makes a poor choice or no choice [see high risk/high support]
  • Free choice menu approach applies to all quality of life areas
  1. employment
  2. residence
  3. social
  4. legal
  5. substance abuse
  6. education
  7. finances
  8. physical health
  9. medications
